Vasculitis Foundation Course 2024
Structure of the course
The number of modules is 9 and each module consists of 1 or 2 lectures. Total number of the lectures will be 14.
Each lecture takes 60 to 90 minutes including 10 to 15 min Quiz and 10 to 15 min Q&A to facilitate active learning process.
Q&A session will also be done by email to support those who are not fully skilled in speaking English and avoid the time constraints of the lecturers.
Case discussion is active learning in which moderators invite a young faculty to present a case, usually up to 10 minutes, followed by a 20–30 minutes Q&A with our audience focusing on the case. Then we will have 1 to 2 invited speakers to give a 15-20 minutes review of learning points of the case, so our audience can learn more in addition to the case itself.
Course Objectives and learning Outcomes
To suit a level of knowledge appropriate for the final years of training as a rheumatologist
To train all doctors involved in care of vasculitis illnesses with basic minimum skills and knowledge to ensure optimum and safe initial care before referring to a fully trained rheumatologist, if that need arises in certain resource limited set ups.
Target audience
Number of participants: Up to 200 per course
Trainees in rheumatology are the primary target, and physicians, general practitioners, family physicians and acute care doctors involved in care of vasculitis in daily practice are also welcomed.
